August 21st to 24th the annual songwriters retreat was held at Camp Harris in Mineville. I love what Robert Campbell is doing for music and songwriting and enthusiastically offered my support and sponsorship. I attended to offer a hand and eneded up cooking for over 30 people with my new kitchen friend and partner Jim Reid.
The week featured amazing mentors in Terra Spener, Asif Illyas and Steven McClintock. Robert Campbell kept things running smoothly while Cailin Green offered up an incredible vocal workshop. Darrel Cameron (Blue Acres) offered his expertise and guidance and helped get tracks recorded for the songwriters.
It is cliche but I truly was blown away by the talent, dedication, and kindness of the people there. I even got a co-write in that I am super proud of and had my first public singing performance of my life.
